Who is leading you?
Who is your guide?
Everybody has a guide of some sorts and it’s important to figure out who really is shaping how you view the world and more importantly how you approach your future? Is it:
- your parents?
- a politician?
- a celibrity?
- a radio or TV personality?
- a pastor?
- a loved one?
- ???? … fill in the blanks.
I used to have multiple influences but quickly found out that they knew no more about the future than I did. There were a lot of ‘talking heads’ and in many instances, I had a clearer picture of what was to come than they did.
That begun my quest to find a true guide and I found that in Christ.
Why Christ and not anyone else?
Well, I found out that He knew all my days and more importantly that He has good plans for me. I also discovered He was the only one who could meet all my needs.
I therefore asked Him to be my vision.
What does that mean? This song gives you an idea.
It means trusting Him and asking Him to order your steps. There are a lot of decisions you will make and so long as you put Him first, you can be sure that He will always be with you.
He actually left His Holy Spirit to guide you in all aspects of your life … just to make sure you know He is with you.
It’s a wonderful journey of faith. You have to step out and it’s only then you will experience it.
Try it … you’ll like it.
Be blessed
Out of Bounds
I like adverts because …
they sometimes speak to real life issues.
Take a look at this one.
(this is not an endorsement of the product)
Ridiculous but unfortunately true for some people. Why? because it’s easy to have ’no go’ areas in your life.
It can be your car, your kitchen, your sneakers, your recliner or even your Christian music collection. You protect these things with a passion and, like in the video, sometimes act in ways that confuse onlookers and seem trivial to loved ones.
It doesn’t mean you are a bad person because, more often than not, you may be the most helpful person in other areas – you provide for your family, you meet your responsibilities etc etc.
The issue here is one of balance and perspective.
It’s important to value the ‘relationships’ you have more than the ‘things’ in your life. There’s no point in giving your kids a nicely decorated home and good food only to scream and shout at them because they spilt a drink on the carpet. A loveless home may drive them away from you.
Most of the ‘things’ you have will not endure … you may change the carpet in 5 years time; Relationships can last a lifetime but one event could ruin everything forever.
Its important to identify areas in your life where you have such issues and try to strike the right balance. It will require open and honest discussions with those in your life and everyone will have to make some adjustments.
You will need wisdom and understanding and guess what … God gives wisdom to anyone who asks.
Go get it and be blessed.
